What is DOMS?

Delayed onset muscle soreness, is also known as (DOMS). Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is the pain and soreness always felt in muscles after unaccustomed or stressful exercise. It’s always felt days or few hours later.

More about DOMS

The pain is felt most severely 24 to 72 hours after the exercise. It is thought to be caused by small-scale damage (microtrauma) to the muscle fibers which is caused by physical activity. After such an exercise, the muscle tends to adapt and repair quickly to prevent muscle damage, and thereby soreness, if the exercise is done over and over again.
