More about Vitamin B12 deficiency
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause two main types of health issues: anemia and damage to the nervous system. When there's not enough vitamin B12 in the body, it can lead to a decrease in the production of healthy red blood cells, resulting in a condition called anemia.
Symptoms are rare but can include fatigue, breathlessness, numbness, poor balance and memory trouble. Treatment includes dietary changes, B12 shots or supplements.
