01. Why Did I Become a Dietitian?
I've always been a foodie at heart! My love for food, combined with a genuine interest in health and wellbeing, naturally led me towards a career in dietetics.
I love that food is so much more than just fuel for our bodies. It's something that brings people together, creates memories and plays an important role in our everyday lives.
Becoming a dietitian has allowed me to combine my passion for food with my interest in health, helping people make positive, sustainable changes to their nutrition without taking the enjoyment out of eating.
02. Passion/Passions
Outside of work, you'll often find me in the kitchen cooking or baking something delicious! I love experimenting with different recipes, discovering new flavours and, of course, enjoying good food.
I'm also a big animal lover and enjoy spending time with my pets.
03. Favourite Things to Treat or Special Interests
I'm particularly interested in helping people improve their health and quality of life through practical, evidence-based nutrition advice.
My key areas of interest include:
- Malnutrition and Nutritional Support: Helping individuals experiencing poor appetite, unintentional weight loss or inadequate nutritional intake to improve their nutritional status and overall wellbeing.
- Diabetes Management: Supporting people living with diabetes through personalised dietary strategies, nutrition education and practical approaches to managing blood glucose levels.
- Chronic Disease Management: Helping individuals manage long-term health conditions through nutrition, including cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol and other chronic health concerns.
- Weight Management: Supporting people with realistic, sustainable weight management strategies that focus on balanced nutrition and long-term healthy habits rather than restrictive dieting.
04. Favourite Food
Wagyu steak! 🥩
You really can't beat a beautifully cooked Wagyu steak. As someone who loves food, I definitely appreciate a good-quality steak!
05. Favourite Exercise
Strength training, hands down! 💪
I'd much rather feel the muscle soreness after a good weights session than be completely out of breath doing cardio!
I love the feeling of challenging myself and getting stronger, but you'll definitely find me choosing weights over a long run any day!
06. Pets if Any
Yes! I have two adorable guinea pigs named Caroline and Charlie. 🐹🐹
They're both very much loved members of the family and definitely keep me entertained!
